Abilene High’s Herschel Sims was named Alltel Wireless “Yards 4 Youth Football Player of the Week” after gaining 270 total offensive yards in the Eagles’ victory over North Richland Hills Richland last Friday.

In Sims’ name, Alltel Wireless will donate $500 to Big Country Youth Football through the Abilene Youth Sports Authority.

Lubbock Monterey was named “Team of the Week” with 570 yards against rival Lubbock High, earning $500 for the Lubbock Youth Football League.
